Living Your “Best Life” Using Cannabis & Intentionality

It is not a secret that living an ordinary life also can mean living a boring life. I have lived many lives, and let me say that I know the difference between exciting and boring.
There is a lot to be said for knowing where your next meal is coming from, how it is being prepared and when one will eat. I know for myself, it was a bit of a struggle when life was exciting to also keep up with everything that came like clockwork, you know… the things that get in the way of excitement, like bills. After lots of struggling, and lots of hard knocks, I learned to balance regular, and exciting.
I am no expert but I like to think that in time, I can impart a little bit of knowledge into the world so I can help others live a little brighter, maybe even a little lighter.
What does living your best life mean?
It’s about being willing to live an unconventional, yet meaningful life. Being able to take risks, generally being able to step outside of the box that society pushes on individuals lives.
Each family, each individual seems to have a different experience whether it is being pushed to believe in something, or support an organization that you are not wanting to support. Many people report to me that they feel pressured to support causes, ideas and thoughts of others by their own family and friends.
Learning who you are and what you stand for is part of the process of growing up afterall, and for me it took a really long time to learn and unlearn some good and bad habits.
Instead of unraveling the mystery of each one of our minds, let's start with some basic life skills that I have found impossible to live “my best life” without these standards and routines and I truly feel that these principles are important for anyone who is dreaming about “living their best life” and changing their bad patterns for good patterns.
Create a bedtime and stick to it
Follow a self care routine
Make a vision board
Write
Meditate / Pray
Use cannabis in place of alcohol and other drugs
Live simply, cleanly and in harmony
Go outside 20% of your day at least
Makeup and forgive people who you harbor anger or bad feelings toward
Find a church, a group or a network to connect with that helps you with life and build around that center of energy and connection
Creating a bedtime routine and sticking to it has greatly benefited my life and the lives of those around me. I once had insomnia that would keep me up most nights until 3 or 4 in the morning. I remember that I would be exhausted all of the time. Insomnia can be caused by a lot of things, it is always important to check with your physician if you feel excessively tired, or have insomnia for more than a week.
I am not a doctor, but I want to advise anyone who is suffering from lack of sleep to visit your doctor and ask about various causes, it could be simple. Caffeine obviously does not help so stay away from caffeinated beverages five hours before bed, various stimulation (video games, exciting content before bed and even sex) can keep you up.
I will tell you what I did to help my insomnia. I smoked cannabis, of the kush variety, like OG KUSH. I also take melatonin and other herbs before bed, I limit stimulation and I turn the lights down early. I do not drink caffeine after 6 on weekdays. I do basic self care everyday, as featured in my Forbes 5 Questions Article in 2020. Self care is vital for health, wellness and prosperity.
Creating a vision board is my favorite part of the work I do with executives, professionals and businesses. I help each and everyone build their vision for what they want in the future, the future is now.
Get started on your vision board as soon as you can. Follow my links to learn about the best vision boards and why you need one for yourself. I have been making vision boards for over 20 years. I have mastered the physical and metaphysical art of energizing vision boards to build success and I want to help you do that too.
Writing is an important and essential way to release your thoughts, organize them and make sense of them. Sometimes, your thoughts stimulate other energy to come into existence. Writing opens up many portals of communication to flow. Never fear writing, never fear sharing your thoughts. Be bold, share and learn about yourself by letting others read your mind.
Meditation and prayer is a large part of my life and who I am. I know that meditation helps me focus on what is important, what is good and what deserves my attention.
I know that prayer is essential. I pray and ask for guidance, prosperity and help with my life journey. I pray to Christ (Yeshua), if you want to pray, it is quite easy, you simply, pray.
I chose to leave alcohol behind me on my journey in life and I have not missed it, ok, I have missed it a little. I love to taste cultural traditions, what can I say. Haha, medicinal tequila in the covid-era would have been my thing. Well, I am glad that I do not drink, it has nothing to do with my faith. It has a lot to do with my personal health. I felt like crap drinking and now I don’t. I feel like a million bucks most days, and I am 40 years old, a mother of four humans almost all adults mind you. I should feel more tired and exhausted than I do…and yet, I feel great. Thank God. Actually, I really do thank God. I know that I was hard on my body, but I know that bodies heal quickly once you stop treating them poorly. I quit drinking, and it has been amazing. I smoke, eat and vape cannabis. I also take shrooms and enjoy the wild trips that I have with them. I would much rather trip on mushrooms than get drunk.
LA has an amazing mushroom scene, and I have had chocolate bars made with magic mushrooms from a michelin star chef … Seriously. Life is good. I want yours to be good too!
Live simply, cleanly and in harmony… this is a good way to start, and pretty self explanatory, “living your best life” and meaning it. Live simply, by focusing on the simple pleasures, and understanding who you really are in allowing more moments of simplicity and authenticity.
What I mean by that is allowing moments that you can be “off” and engage with your loved ones and let your “belly hang out” or God for bid, “pass gas aka fart” without being worried someone is going to break it off with you just because you allowed a moment of humanness between you.
I wonder if our world is becoming less and less human and more and more AI, by human to human censorship and digital technology being in every single special moment. Intentionality is key, in living your best life.
Intentionality, means doing EVERYTHING you can possibly do with sincere intention and focus on your desired outcome. Living an intentional life has allowed me to live closer to the dreams that I have than ever, and that is what LYBL (Living Your Best Life) is all about.
Are you still with me? haha…
Ok, good.
This is the most important part of the 3 part trifecta: Live simply, cleanly and in harmony. Living CLEANLY, this is so important. Living orderly and cleanly is not meant to be terrible, a pain in the butt or anything like that, it is in fact meant to alleviate mental pain and possibly even rodents and pests. YUCK.
Clean up every night.
Do your dishes every night. Jessi Cox pro-tip, do your dishes EVERY NIGHT. Do not go to bed with a dirty sink.
Challenge yourself to do a small clean up routine before bed, even if nobody else helps you (you will thank me)… you will wake up in the morning and the kitchen will be glistening (hopefully, like you left it) and you can make your coffee, smoke your joint or hit your vape, or do your yoga, meditation or worship without feeling like you have to clean first.
Trust me, this is an amazing way to start your day, straightening up the house the day before, I do it nightly, before bed.
Live in harmony, this is a hard one for me. I am a Cancer, lol. I am a fighter. I am a serious “mama bear” and I never like to concede when I lose. I seriously do not like losing. However, life has taught me that losing gracefully is important, creating harmony is most helpful in all situations concerning family, schools and community. It is just better, sure you have to lose and admit that you lost. Once you do that, you can start working on winning next time.
Build a better campaign for PTA, create a better partner program at work, make better cake for the bake sale, whatever it is, do it with love and intention and most of all a heart filled with harmony.
Going outside 20% of your day. This is really important. I go outside 20% of my day and I love it, but that is easy, I live in sunny LA. Do you want ideas on going outside where you live? Remember to subscribe to my posts and I will let you know events that happen in your city!
Did you know that spending time outdoors reduces your symptoms of anxiety and depression. According to Google, an analysis of ten studies found that spending time in a green environment improved mood and self-esteem. Those struggling with mental illness saw significant increases in their self-esteem and saw a reduction in their depression symptoms
Forgive & Forget Living in the past is bad for the soul.
Join a church, become a part of something that benefits society, and builds a better tomorrow and you will blossom.
Living your best life is about living life and filling it to the brim with things that inspire greatness, inspire more education, learning, connection, community and prosperity.
